Many people close to those who lost their lives on Flight 5191 are right here in eastern Hentucky.
WYMT's Jeff Allen sat down with a longtime friend of a Harlan County native killed in the crash as she learned what pilots were talking about just before the crash that took her friend's life.
As new details emerged about what pilots were doing just before 5191 crashed, Janice Brewer looked on and she was looking for answers.
"I thought it was really interesting one of them noticed there wasn't any lights on the runway," Brewer said.
Answers to aching questions she's been asking since her good friend, Judy Rains, died in the crash months ago.
Rains was on her way to St. Lucia with her fiance to get married.
"We just want them to get to the bottom of it and the reason why they went down the wrong runway the reason why we no longer have these people here," Brewer said.
Janice says she doesn't necessarily blame the pilots of 5191 and she says she and Judy Rains family just want a final determination of why the plane went down.
"I just really wish they would find out so we can put this all to rest," Brewer said.
Until then, Janice says those who were close to Judy Rains will still wonder exactly what took Judy away from them forever.
Judy Rains would've been thirty seven a week from Thursday.
A final determination of what caused the crash of Flight 5191 is not expected until this summer.
