3-Year-Old Northeastern Kentucky Boy Dies In House Fire

ASHLAND, Ky. (AP) - A 3-year-old boy died in a house fire
Wednesday in northeastern Kentucky, authorities said.
Ashland Fire Department Capt. Scott Boyd said a preliminary
investigation indicates the fire may have been electrical.
Ashland resident Eli Gilliam was trapped in a bedroom and died
in the blaze, The Daily Independent reported. The fire was reported
to Boyd County EMS around 3:30 a.m. EST Wednesday.
The child's mother, Jessica Baldridge, and two sisters, Madyson
Fannin, 12, and Chelsea Fannin, 14, were able to escape the blaze.
Chelsea was taken to a local hospital after suffering a broken
ankle when she jumped from the second story. Baldridge was treated
for minor burns and smoke inhalation.
Scott Penick, the deputy fire chief, said the fire appeared to
have started under a stairway, near a computer.
