A slow moving cold front will bring rain back to the mountains Tuesday afternoon and evening. Some storms could contain heavy rain and could lead to new flash flooding. Keep an eye on water levels in flood prone areas and do not cross flooded roadways.
The search for an Eastern Kentucky woman police say was murdered in Magoffin County has come to an end, after rescue crews find her body in a Breathitt County creek. 28-year-old Brandy Rowe went missing nearly a month ago. Today her family says now that they have her body, they can finally find start to grieve their loss.
Family members say they got a call just after one this afternoon, when Brandy Rowe's body was found in quicksand creek. The Magoffin County rescue squad says cadaver dogs found her body under nearly four feet of water.
While this is a difficult time for Rowe's family, they say they're glad they can at least bring brandy home. Rowe's Aunt, Janet Marshall said, "It's a big relief to be able to find her. You can't go on with your life knowing that she's in this water somewhere. I mean, it just brought our lives to a halt."
Don Reed, Paul "Spanky" Arnett, and Linda Risner Arnett have been arrested in connection with in Rowe's murder. The case has been sent to the grand jury.
Rowe leaves behind two children, ages nine and six. Her family says they plan to make funeral arrangements and finally give her a proper burial.
