After more than fifty years in business, a Perry County furniture store is closing it's doors.

It was after four years of serving in World War Two that Floyd Hall decided to start his own business.

"Thought it would be a good business to get into," Floyd Hall said.

Hall opened Perry Furniture in 1953 and more than fifty years later and at age 85 Hall's store is still open.

"Just keeping busy. That's the main thing, just keeping busy," Hall said.

And they have been especially hectic the past few weeks...with closeout sales.

"Just came in to see what kind of deals are out there. We know the place is closing so I thought I would probably get a good deal," Tim Chaffins said.

Joe Couch has worked with Hall for more than forty-years and he says he's been more than just an employee, after all this time, their good friends. "I got out of the service and my dad worked here at the time, I just never did leave! It's kind of sad, it's the ending of an era," Couch said.

Perry Furniture's last day of business will be next Wednesday.
