The birth of a child is one of the most special times in many people's lives, but for some it can also be a confusing time.
Kimberly Thompson says she's looking forward to having her first child, but with about 4 months to go she also has a lot of questions.
"I just want to educate myself on what I can do to make the birthing process easier for me and my baby," Thompson said.
So she decided to sign up for the upcoming childbirth classes at Harlan A.R.H.
"I feel if they come to child birth classes that they can get the education such as being prepared," Nurse Susie Clark said.
Nurses Susie Clark and Shirley Browning will be teaching the classes and Browning says the education might not just ease the minds of expectant mothers, but the pain as well.
"So they won't be so afraid of the unknown. If they're really scared they're more tense and the pain is more intense," Browning said
Now Kimberly Thompson is looking forward to the series of classes that she hopes will make her journey to becoming a parent a bit easier.
Child birth preparation classes at Harlan ARH begin next week and they are free to everyone, even women not giving birth there.
