Cumberland Gap Native Has Number One Song

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A singer who grew up in Cumberland Gap,
Tennessee, has the Number-One country song in America.
"Watching You" by Rodney Atkins has been at the top of the
country charts for three straight weeks.
It's a song about how sons imitate their dads, and it was
inspired by Atkins' own son, five-year-old Elijah.
Family is important for Atkins, who was placed in a children's
home and then adopted as a baby.
Last year, he returned to that children's home in Greeneville to
give a private Christmas concert. For Atkins, it was a chance to
show the kids that tough beginnings can have happy endings.
