Group Finds Certain Birth Control Pills Could Increase Risk Of Blood Clot

A consumer group says certain low dose birth control pills can increase the risk of a blood clot.

The advocacy group Public Citizen is petitioning the FDA to pull the drugs off the market. All contraceptive pills carry a very low risk of blood clots, but Public Citizen claims newer third generation pills double that risk when compared to older pills.

The FDA says it will review the petition.
