Kentucky lawmakers may soon require convicted sex offenders give more information to police.
A bill talked about in Frankfort would require offenders tell police how they use the internet.
Senate bill 65 would require them to register their online identities, such as user names, passwords, and chat room information.
"But another child in another neighborhood could be communicating with a registered sex offender on the internet and there's no way for that child's parents to know that," said Senator Ray Jones.
The bill passed out of committee and is now headed to the senate floor.
