An eastern Kentucky man is facing seven counts of unlawful imprisonment after law enforcement officials say he held seven teenage girls captive.
Deputies say 42 year old James Marsillett of Flat Gap got into a heated argument with his wife when Marsillett's step daughter was having a birthday party.
That's when police say the girls at the party tried to leave... but Marsillett allegedly wouldn't let them... and allegedly threatened to harm them if they tried to call their parents.
Deputies say they arrested Marsillett at the Paintsville Wal-Mart after the teens he he allegedly held hostage devised a plan to get away.
"I think they did an outstanding job coming up with the story to get the gentlemen to take them out of the residence and to get them where they needed to go. The children did an outstanding job," said Tom Wyatt with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department
Deputies say Marsillett is charged with assault, alcohol intoxication and seven counts of unlawful imprisonment.
Marsillett was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center and later released on bond.
The case will be heard by a grand jury on February 15th.
