A building originally bought for education, will now be used for just that, thanks to the city of Hazard.
The old Kentucky power building in downtown Hazard will soon be the home of the Walkertown Montessori School.
Mayor Bill Gorman says the city of Hazard bought the building two years ago for more than two-hundred-thousand dollars.
Today, the city turned the building over to the lions club for the Montessori school.
"I think they have about 75 students, now they can go up to 100, 150, 200 kids, whatever...it's a great program and I've seen the advantage of it with my step-grandson." says Mayor Gorman.
Lions' club members say renovations should be complete for the school to move in this summer.
