Kentucky health departments are providing people over 60 years old three free shots if they pay for a flu shot.
The price is only $20, and It's the first time the state has offered this.
"We serve a lot of underprivileged elderly clients, and they sometimes get let out of health care because they can't afford it," Pattie Brashear, a nurse, said.
The three other shots are for shingles, tetanus, and pneumonia.
"We have a lot of elders who ask for that, and a lot of times they don't have insurance, and they are expensive," Brashear said.
"As a preventive measure, I think it's good for older people with lower immune systems to receive that to help prevent that," Heather Sparkman, a nurse, said.
Health department officials say many were surprised about the deal, and want to get the word out.
"I don't think a lot of people know about it yet. But we'll be out at Black Gold, we're taking advantage of it, sending information out to hopefully have a good turnout," Sparkman said.
Sparkman added you can ask them questions at the festival through the weekend.
Officials also say they will be giving out H1N1 vaccine shots when they arrive in October.
However, they also recommend you to get the seasonal flu shot as well.
