Jury Convicts Woman In Drug Smuggling Trial

A federal jury has convicted a woman accused of smuggling drugs into an Eastern Kentucky prison.

Alice Stapleton, a former guard at the Big Sandy Federal Prison in Martin County, testified Friday that if she didn't smuggle in the drugs, she would have been killed. The jury deliberated for several hours before returning the guilty verdict on all counts.
