State Approves Emergency Filtration System For Knott County

An emergency filtration system for the Knott County water system has been approved by the state.

After suffering a critical water outage for more than one week, Emergency Management Director Greg Mullins says county officials are in the process of setting up a self-designed filtration system that would use six swimming pools and a one-thousand gallon water supply.

An engineer with the Division of Water approved the design that will be used for future disasters.

Mullins says they are in the process of setting up a filtration system to be tested. He also says everyone on the Hindman City Water supply now has full water pressure.
