Hundreds Lose Phone Service Due To Forest Fires

Hundreds of people are without phone service in Harlan County due to a forest fire.

Officials say a fire that was deliberately set destroyed an AT&T hub. Six hundred customers in the Cawood area are affected by the outage.

Officials say if you have an emergency in that area, you can go to the Fast and Friendly Mart in Cawood where a satellite radio can be used to contact emergency personnel.

It's not known how long it will take to fix the problem.

Officials say an outdoor burning ban has also been issued for Harlan County until further notice.
