Former Police Sergeant Heading To Federal Prison

A former state police sergeant is headed to federal prison.

42 year old Louis Podunavac Junior of Flatwoods was sentenced to 27 months in prison Monday for stealing over $180,000 from a special fund reserved for making drug buys.

Podunavac pleaded guilty in December to stealing the money over a period of time from May 2003 to June 2006.

At one time, Podunavac was in charge of narcotic investigations in Boyd, Carter, Greenup and Lawrence Counties.
