Man Facing Various Theft Charges

Neighbors say they saw him stealing gutters in broad daylight, then police in Somerset say he tried to hide in a creek moments after spotting his car across town.

The gutters could still be seen in trunk of the car police say Kyle Black was driving. Black is accused of stealing gutters and other scrap metal from people's homes north of Somerset. Police say he surrendered after hiding in a creek bank for about 45 minutes.

"We had units that had entire creek area surrounded. 45 minutes into the incident, suspect walked out of the creek and surrendered, saying he was wet and cold and wanted to give himself up," said Lt. Brett Whitaker with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department.

Black is now facing various theft charges. Police say he could be a suspect in a number of other scrap metal thefts in Pulaski County.
