Road Cleanup Crews Visit Eastern Kentucky

Workers filled 300 bags full of trash today just from one Johnson county road.

County officials say trash is a huge problem on Kentucky Route 201....saying most people just throw it out of their cars. Officials want to clean it up... hoping a cleaner road will attract more visitors to the area. County workers and other volunteers are picking up the litter all the way to the Lawrence county line.

"It may make people want to come and visit us more often if they come by and see a clean community and plus, it helps uplift the community when people drive by and see a nice clean area." says Volunteer Steve Sluss.

The clean-up continues tomorrow and all volunteers are welcome.
