Mayes Pleads Guilty To Drug Trafficking

A 33 year old Booneville woman pled guilty to a drug trafficking charge, according to Commonwealth Attorney Heather Combs.

On January 10, 2006, April Mayes sold three pieces of OxyContin to an undercover police officer for $120, said UNITE Prosecutor Bruce Herald.

This week Mayes pled guilty to one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. Herald said the commonwealth has recommended she receive a five-year sentence.

Final sentencing before Circuit Judge Thomas P. Jones is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8.
