Most Roads Now Opened; A Few Closed

HIGHWAY DISTRICT 12 — More than 50 state roads suffered some sort of damage from flooding in six of the seven counties of Highway District 12. By mid-afternoon on Tuesday, only six were still closed.

US 460 in Pike County, which suffered a major pavement collapse, remains closed with a detour established through Chloe Road, KY 1469.

In Floyd County, KY 302 at the entrance to Jenny Wiley State Resort Park remains closed as does KY 194 near the German Bridge.

In Martin County, KY 292 is still closed in a few places, and in Lawrence County, both KY 581 and KY 1760 are closed due to high water.

All other state routes are open. Since there is still water running across roadways and mud buildup in some areas, motorists are advised to use caution when traveling on any of the roads that were closed due to high water or because of mudslides.
