A Harlan County soldier who served in Iraq is dead after a motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon.
It happened on Kentucky 38 in Coxton.
State Police say 22 year old Pete Mullins of Lejunior was driving west when he lost control going around a curve... left the roadway... and hit a rock embankment.
Mullins was pronounced dead at the scene.
The military says Mullins was a National Guard soldier who served in Iraq for about a year before returning home last summer.
He was on leave from Camp Shelby, Mississippi, where he had been training soldiers preparing to go to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Funeral arrangements haven't been made.
We hope to have more on this story Wednesday night on Mountain News.
