Bomb Threat Received At EKU's Manchester Campus

MANCHESTER, Ky. (AP) - Police were investigating a bomb threat Wednesday that caused the evacuation of students and staff at Eastern Kentucky University's campus here.

The threat came in an e-mail received on campus, the university said in a statement.

Emergency officials were notified immediately and the campus was evacuated as a precaution, the statement said. EKU police responded in cooperation with Kentucky State Police, Manchester police and other emergency personnel.

Enrollment at the Manchester campus was 362 students last fall.

Bomb threats have been reported at a number of schools across the country following the shooting spree Monday at Virginia Tech that left 33 people dead.
