United Steel Workers and Appalachian Regional Healthcare officials are scheduled to resume negotiations on a new contract Thursday.
Union officials tell Mountain News progress is expected Thursday. The Steel Workers have been on strike for nearly three weeks now, since April 1st.
ARH has announced the closing of two clinics and a pharmacy since the strike began.
Negotiators tried to work out a new contract in Lexington during the first week of the strike, but couldn't come to an agreement.
Officials from both sides have they hope to have a resolution as soon as possible.
