Middlesboro Leaders Looking To Build Tourism

You may already know, but geologists say one Eastern Kentucky city is actually built inside a crater.

We're talking about Middlesboro and city leaders and tourism officials there want to use the area's unique landscape to build tourism. They've decided to host "Cruisin' The Crater." The soon to be monthly event will welcome hot rod, truck, and motorcycle drivers to roll into town.

"We hope they'll come downtown, stay in our motels, eat at our restaurants," said Judy Barton with Bell County Tourism.

The first "Cruisin' The Crater" will be Saturday night May 19th from 6:00-10:00 pm and every third Saturday of the month through October. It will be held in front of the Middlesboro Mall and free to anyone who wants to take part.
