ARH Strike Negotiations Resume

United Steel Workers and Appalachian Regional Healthcare officials resumed negotiations on a new contract Thursday.

The Steel Workers have been on strike for nearly three weeks now, since April 1st. ARH has announced the closing of two clinics and a pharmacy since the strike began.

Negotiators tried to work out a new contract in Lexington during the first week of the strike, but couldn't come to an agreement. Officials from both sides have they hope to have a resolution as soon as possible.

Kentucky Education Associations in Floyd and Perry Counties have decided to show their support for the striking employees. Teachers and other classified employees will be visiting the ARH picket lines tonight at the Hazard ARH and Saturday at the McDowell ARH.
