Members of a small town in Pulaski County have sent a petition to the county clerk asking for a special election on the town's alcohol status.
The city of Burnside now allows alcohol to be sold only in restaurants with seating capacities of 100 or more. However, two local pastors have led a petition drive to reverse the status. They have more than 100 signatures of people who want a special vote to ban all alcohol sales. Only 87 names were needed on the petition to cover the 25 percent of people who voted in the city's last election.
