A new addition to the business community of one Eastern Kentucky town. It's a new hotel that may be called Holiday Inn, but some say it will be a big help to business as well.
Tuesday, Hazard took that step in its development by adding another hotel. The new Holiday Inn Express held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate it's opening day. The hotel has meeting rooms and suites that some say should be a help to the continuing growth of Perry County.
"We've had people that have had to stay in all the surrounding areas because they didn't have a place to stay, but with the hotel development that we've had in the last few years, we're right back at the top," said Hazard Mayor Bill Gorman.
Mayor Gorman says he believes having another large hotel will help bring more conventions and state meetings to the city of Hazard.
