FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) - Soldiers from three 101st Airborne
Division brigades are facing a return to Iraq after receiving
deployment orders from the Pentagon.
The division's First, Second and Third Brigades were among ten
brigades told to be ready to deploy to Iraq beginning this fall. In
all, the orders involve more than 35-thousand soldiers.
A Fort Campbell spokesman says it would be the third deployment
to Iraq for many 101st Airborne Division soldiers.
Master Sergeant Terry Webster says nobody was surprised by the
The deployment orders would allow commanders to maintain the
ongoing troop build-up through year's end if needed. President Bush
ordered nearly 30-thousand extra troops to Iraq earlier this year.
