Whitley County Rest Stop Rape Trial Begins Wednesday

A man accused of raping a woman at a Kentucky rest stop goes on trial Wednesday.

William Burdine is accused of attacking a woman at the welcome center along Interstate 75 in Whitley County in 2004. Burdine escaped from custody while being treated at the U.K. Hospital in Lexington last November. He was caught near the Best Buy store after hours on the run. He claimed he didn't escape and was just let go.

Burdine is charged with rape and sexual abuse.
