Students Remembers Soldier Killed In Iraq

Hundreds of students paid tribute to a North Laurel High School graduate who died in combat in Iraq.

Junior R.O.T.C. cadets put on the service that was attended by members of Staff Sergeant Chris Hamlin's family. Teachers say students should take note of the supreme sacrifice paid by Hamlin.

"I ask each here to remember all who go in harm's way to preserve our freedom," said North Laurel JROTC Commander Kenneth Vanourney.

"This is just a great thing, what we're so proud of what our town has done to remember such a brave young man," said Hamlin's aunt, April Hamlin-Young.

Hamlin's funeral will be Saturday at 1 o'clock at the London Funeral Home.
