Father Who Abandoned Son Needing Kidney Back In Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Authorities say a federal inmate who used
his son's ailing condition to get out of prison and then
disappeared has been returned to Kentucky.
Authorities released Byron Perkins in early 2006 so he could be
tested as a potential kidney donor for his son, Destin, who was
undergoing dialysis treatment.
Perkins instead fled to Mexico with his girlfriend. They were
captured last month in Puerto Vallarta.
Perkins shouted at reporters as he was entering a federal
building, escorted by marshals.
He yelled -- quote -- "I want to tell my story," -- end quote
-- after stepping from a black S-U-V that rushed him from a
Lexington airport.
