Northup Campaign Apologizes For Late Night Calls

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Some Kentucky Republicans got late-night
calls promoting Anne Northup, resulting in an apology the next day
from her gubernatorial campaign.
Northup spokesman Barry Peel blamed the problem on a computer
glitch by a campaign vendor.
Peel says some Republicans received repeated phone calls, some
coming after ten p-m.
Peel says the calls were in response to the Fletcher campaign's
-- quote -- "erroneous and negative" attack on Northup's gun
record. Peel says Northup has an impeccable record in support of
gun-ownership rights.
Northup is running against Governor Fletcher and Paducah
businessman Billy Harper in next Tuesday's Republican gubernatorial
primary election.
