An Eastern Kentucky family will have a new home thanks to one corporation.
The company Citi-Financial presented Habitat for Humanity a $25,000 check today. The money will be used later this year to build a house for a family who needs it. The money was presented by both the state office and seven Eastern Kentucky branch offices.
"The idea of putting families in homes that can't afford it and having basic necessities is probably one of the most important things in anybody's life," said Mark McGueenie, Citi-Financial Area Director.
"We were elated. We're thrilled because we live on donations and we have to have donations to keep building houses," said Debby Murphy with the Sandy Valley Habitat for Humanity.
A group will start building the new home later this year.
