Will Wolfe Creek Dam Keep Tourist Away From Lake Cumberland?

Many are wondering if problems at Wolf Creek Dam will keep tourists away from Lake Cumberland this summer.

The lake is much lower because of the leaky dam. Many boat ramps have been extended but some marinas are still high and dry. The owner of Alligator One Marina in Russell County has spent a half million dollars on improvements, but his boat ramps are still out of the water.

"We've had to reconfigure a lot of our docks and we've had to dig down and make a better way to get onto our dock and we're looking or move the marina 5 miles eventually down the lake," said Manager Mark Blakeman.

Some believe tourists will still visit the lake and one hotel manager in Somerset says all of his rooms are sold out for next weekend.
