Releases Sex Offender Names To KY Officials

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - has handed over information on
68 convicted sex offenders from Kentucky who were found on the
popular social networking site, Attorney General Greg Stumbo said
The data was turned over to state police and the Department of
Corrections to investigate possible violations by sex offenders,
Stumbo's office said. Under a new law passed in Kentucky this year,
sex offenders have to register their online identities with state
police, he said.
Faced with legal demands from several state attorneys general,
MySpace said Monday it would begin sharing data on the registered
sex offenders it has identified and removed from the site. About
7,000 profiles have been removed from the site nationally.
