President Bush Nominates New Federal Judge

President Bush has nominated Amul Thapar to be a federal judge for the eastern district of Kentucky.

If confirmed, Thapar will replace retiring Chief Judge Joseph Hood.

He currently serves as the U.S. Attorney for the eastern district of Kentucky.

Kentucky senators Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning praised the nomination.
