A former Breathitt County woman who had been wanted on drug charges for more than three years was arrested Thursday, May 31, after being snared in a traffic checkpoint.
Mickey Clemons, 42, now a resident of Greenfield, Indiana, was charged with a Breathitt County indictment warrant for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) as well as an outstanding drug warrant from Indiana.
Clemons was unable to produce a driver¹s license after pulling up to a road check being conducted by the Morehead Post of the Kentucky State Police in Wolfe County. Trooper Chris Hollon was able to obtain enough information to learn that she had outstanding warrants and placed her under arrest.
On February 6, 2004, Operation UNITE detectives were assisting the KSP during a search of a Breathitt County residence when they discovered the cocaine.
Attempts to locate Clemons later in the year were unsuccessful.
Clemons was lodged in the Three Forks Regional Jail in Lee County.
