He's served as Hazard's city manager for more than 30 years, but as of Friday, Paul Feltner is retiring.
Feltner was a school teacher for six years before working for the city.
He says a lot has changed in his 32 year tenure, including a budget jump from around 640 thousand dollars a year, to more than 20 million.
Feltner says he has grown right along with the city and he would not have chosen another career.
"I have loved the work that I have done here, and as I said, it's so exciting, this work is, you don't have any dull moments, there's always something that's moving you forward." Feltner said.
Feltner says he has to stay busy, so he plans to work with his wife at her business.
Mayor Gorman named Carlos Combs as the interim city manager.
