Tennessean, 2 Others Rescue Drowning Man In Alaska

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (AP) - An East Tennessee airman stationed in
Alaska helped save a life.
John Rogers of Harrogate, about four miles southeast of
Middlesboro, Kentucky, and two others rescued 35-year-old Joseph
Mead near Fairbanks, Alaska, earlier this month.
The three pulled him from a lake and kept him alive until
emergency responders arrived.
The 22-year-old Rogers is stationed at Eielson Air Force Base
near Fairbanks where he is a machine operator. All three have
served in Iraq.
