Former Deputy Jailer Behind Bars

A former Floyd County deputy jailer is now in jail himself on federal drug charges.

Officials in the U.S. Attorney's office say Damon Newsome is charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute. Floyd County Jail officials say Newsome worked at the jail for about ten years and left two years ago. He's charged with dealing drugs since October of last year.

Three others are also charged, Alfred King, Mark King, and Timothy Wayne Hall.
