Man Accused Of Killing Former Constable Could Face The Death Penalty

Police say attorneys plan to seek the death penalty against a Johnson County man accused of killing a former constable.

They say Christopher Fairchild was the ringleader in the murder of James Mollette in September. Tommy Baldridge is also charged, but officials say he cooperated with authorities after the murder, so they will not seek the death penalty against him.

Police say Fairchild shot Mollette and then threatened to kill Baldridge unless he slit Mollette's throat.
