Another band of snow will move into the region tonight. That plus temperatures into the lower 20s will create slick spots across the mountains. Additional accumulation of up to a half inch is possible in the valleys, while up to an additional inch is possible on the ridges. An Eastern Kentucky bluegrass musician has died.
Ray Goins died earlier this week due after some medical complications. Goins is known for playing the banjo with the Goins Brother Band and earlier in his career with the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers.
Goins was inducted into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame several years ago.
His funeral is being handled by Lucas and Son Funeral Home in Pikeville. It will be at 1 pm Friday at Freewill Baptist Church in Rockhouse.
Goins was 71 years old.
