Boots Randolph 1989 Interview With WSGS Radio

Earlier this week, we told you about the death of Kentucky Native Boots Randolph. The saxophone player was best known for his 1963 hit "Yakety Sax" which you might know as the Benny Hill theme.

In 1989, Randolph visited Hazard to play at a wedding reception at L.D. Gorman's home.

Before the reception, he talked to Ernest Sparkman with WSGS radio in his motel room at LaCitadelle.

"It sure is a pretty place. This is a beautiful view up here at the top of this mountain and I think I've maybe been in Hazard once before. I don't get here often and I'd like to come back," he said during the interview.

Boots Randolph was 80 years old.
