Keeping car maintained in cold

By Marcus Conroy |

The snow has slowed, but the freezing temperatures continue.

Many are saying this is the coldest winter the Mountains have seen in a while.

"Last year, it wasn't too bad. The year before wasn't too bad. But now this here has gotten our attention the snow is bad and it's cold," Jerry Williams said.

"It's been cold this winter longer than I've ever known," Maggie Johnson said.

The ice and snow is also rougher on cars in the roads.

"It's a lot harder on your engine, your brakes, transmission, everything. You've just got a lot tougher terrain," Mechanic Freddie Childers said.

Childers also says the two most important things to maintain are brakes and windshield wipers.

"You need to be able to see. Good wiper blades will keep your windshield clean," Childers said.

Some roads remain a wintry mess, and there is even more snow on the way.

"That's something that we can't stop. If it comes, we'll have to deal with it," Williams said.

But many hope we do not have to deal with it much longer.
