LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Hospital officials says Kentucky Supreme
Court Justice William McAnulty is recovering from surgery to remove
a cancerous lesion from the base of his brain.
McAnulty underwent surgery yesterday at Jewish Hospital in
Louisville, just weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer that
had spread to the brain.
Doctor Wayne Villanueva, who performed the operation, says
McAnulty came through the surgery extremely well.
Medical oncologist Jeffrey Hargis says McAnulty will undergo
chemotherapy and radiation treatment starting later this month.
McAnulty won a full eight-year term on the high court in
November, defeating Jefferson Circuit Judge Ann O'Malley Shake.
