The Bell County Sheriff's office is continuing the investigation of an active meth lab.

Late last night officers found a meth lab in the Page Cut-off Community by Old Cross Road.

Officers say this was a six month investigation that lead them to find much more than just an active meth lab.

The trailer sits hitched and ready to go.

Police are confiscating what looks like a trailer full of horse supplies, but officials say it was actually an active meth lab.

Police found meth, marijuana, pills and the ingredients to make meth but officials say the most disappointing thing they found on the scene were two young children in the presence of a meth lab.

"It is just devastating. The training we have, we know how devastating it is to their health and mentally and physically... it just breaks your heart," said Bell County Sheriff, Bruce Bennett.

The suspects are in the Bell County Detention Center facing several charges, including endangerment of a child.

The Middlesboro Police Department got a tip about the meth lab and assisted the sheriff's department.

"We encourage all these tips. Whether it be something we can deal with or something we can pass on... it is important," said David Buis with Middlesboro Police.

Officers say they depend on the public's help to put folks behind bars.

The two young children were transported to the Pineville Community Hospital were they received treatment and decontamination.

They are now in the custody of social services.
