ATV Accident In Knox County

The Cumberland Gap Parkway was closed earlier Sunday after an ATV and a car collided.

It happened just before four Sunday afternoon off Hazel Fork Road, near the Gray community.

Emergency responders say two boys riding an ATV hit a car head on.

Crews shut down 25-E both ways so that helicopters could fly both boys to a Lexington hospital. The road has since been reopened.

Police say the two boys on the ATV are in stable condition at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. The passenger in the car, who was three months pregnant, remains at Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment.
