He says a state police trooper took him to an abandoned mine and beat him for no apparent reason.

He says it happened near South Williamson.

Trooper Jared Alfrey is suspended with pay but state police say they can't comment on anything else right now because it is an ongoing investigation.

The alleged victim, Randall McCoy is talking, and says he didn't deserve what happened to him.

“It was like a nightmare that I kept praying I would wake up from,” McCoy said.

Randall McCoy says he has the bruises and eight days in the hospital to prove it was no bad dream.

“I know I did nothing to provoke him,” McCoy said.

McCoy says all he wanted was the trooper to help him get his stuff from his girlfriend's house after they had a fight.

Instead, he said the trooper arrested both of them.

McCoy says he has a bad back and asked the trooper to move his handcuffs from the back to the front.

“He ordered me to put my hands on my head and I was standing there like this and he reached back and slapped me as hard as he could on the side of my face, the side of my head,” McCoy said.

McCoy claims the trooper took both him and his girlfriend to this abandoned mine site and pulled him out of the car.

“At this point in time, he didn't swing at me with his hands, he swung at me with his fist,” McCoy said.

McCoy says he did put the trooper in a headlock.

“He put a gun to the back of my head. He stomped my neck, my back, all up and down my back, he kicked me, he pulled out his baton and was beating me,” McCoy said.

McCoy says he crawled back to the cruiser and was peppered sprayed before they left the mine site.

State police say they can't give trooper Alfrey's side of the story right now because of the ongoing investigation.

Major Rudzinski says investigators are still collecting information and interviews and there's no timeline when the investigation will be finished.
