Officials Say County Jail Overcrowded

Officials in at least one Eastern Kentucky county admit overcrowding is a problem at the county jail.

The Laurel County judge executive says overcrowding was one main reason his county's jail didn't reach compliance on some state correctional requirements.

Judge Lawrence Kuhl says the Laurel County Detention Center hasn't been able to keep up with area growth and more inmates. He says the county has plans to expand the facility.
