State Police Commander Retires

Tuesday was the last official day on the job for a Kentucky State Police post commander. Captain Jim Booth from Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville officially retired Tuesday at midnight. Captain Booth says Post 9 is like home for him.

"I really enjoy Post 9 and getting to come back home and to finish my career at Post 9," says Booth. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

Booth also said he had a long and joyful career and that it was time to move on to try some new things. Booth has been with the Kentucky State Police for 18 years.
