County Fiscal Court Considers Ordinance Allowing ATV's On Paved Roads

The Wayne County Fiscal Court is considering an ordinance that would make it legal to ride ATV's on all roads owned or maintained by the county.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports certain rules would apply, such as riders would be required to have liability insurance.

Kentucky law essentially bans ATV's from paved roads.

Opponents of the ordinance are concerned about safety issues.

The judge executive says many of those pushing the ordinance are riders from outside the area.
